Watersheds Canada Natural Edge program

Once again this season, Environment Council is assisting Kawartha Lake Stewards Assoc in delivering the Watersheds Canada Natural Edge program to our lakes.

This is a great opportunity for waterfront owners to restore their shorelands to a more natural state to help protect the lake and enhance wildlife habitat on land and in the water.

The cost is very reasonable.  A professional will assess each participant’s shore area and develop a planting plan in discussion with the participant.  Native shrubs and wildflowers will be ordered on behalf of owners and delivered to site, and if needed, volunteers will help with planting.

What could be easier and more beneficial to the lakes?
